She was a devoted wife and mom who also worked as a Physical Therapist Aide at Xavier Hospital and later at Mercy Hospital until her retirement. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory, and from 9:00 am until 9:45 am on Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dubuque. Keith was a long-serving board member of Hillcrest Family Services and the Northeast Iowa Council Boy Scouts. Immediately following high school, he began farming and farmed the family farm east of Elwood until his retirement. He printed and transported the paper between the towns every Tuesday night for many years. Carla also pursued a college education in her late twenties through the accelerated adult nighttime program at Clarke University, attaining a bachelors degree in Communications with a minor in Philosophy, all while working full-time.
